About Patrick Robinson
Patrick has worked in different industries as well as various sizes and types of organizations. While in public accounting with Ernst & Young, Patrick was a founding member of the Wichita office’s Entrepreneurial Services Group, specializing in dealing with new, growing companies. He served as Controller of a wholesale electronics distributor, a large fast food franchisee, in oversight of a diverse group of investments by the founder of a national hotel chain, an oilfield equipment manufacturer with worldwide sales, and a VP Finance for a developer of ambulatory surgical centers. Patrick was President of a manufacturing company which made auto booster cables, wire harnesses for agriculture and construction equipment, and imported small auto electric parts from China and Taiwan. He traveled to the Orient to visit vendor facilities and to attend trade shows searching for new suppliers, as well as attended domestic trade shows for that industry. His last stint in industry was as CEO of a company manufacturing oxygen systems for regional and business aircraft. While there, he had primary responsibility for getting the AS9100 Manual approved by the FAA and applying for EASA Supplement approval.
He has successfully developed and implemented several accounting and internal control systems; overseen software installations/conversions; and designed tax, financial, and management reporting systems. Patrick’s focus is on improving profitability by ensuring timely and accurate financial statements; proper analysis of financial information; proper planning through the use of budgets, projections, cash management/forecasting; and controlling operations through the disciplined use of those tools.
He has experience with oversight of banking relations, risk management and insurance, employee benefits, compensation, tax research, planning, compliance, staff supervision and training.
Patrick previously held a Kansas Permit to Practice Public Accounting for 29 years; is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation. He is a member of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA) and its Wichita chapter. He is a founding member of the Advisory Board to the Kansas State University Finance Department, serving for over 25 years. Patrick has been a member of the World Trade Council of Wichita for 15 years, and sat on the executive board for 10+ of them. He is a member of the Financial Executive Networking Group (FENG) and was a member of Vistage International for 7 years. He currently belongs to a local group of The Alternative Board (TAB).
Patrick is a native of central Kansas and has lived in Wichita since 1981. He and his wife Linda have 2 adult children living in Austin, TX and 2 in Wichita.
